For some infants treatment is needed only for a few hours while for others it may be needed for several months. CPAP has been widely used with these infants to reduce their work of breathing. Nasal CPAP is growing in popularity because it avoids intubation or tracheotomization, decreases the risk of nosocomial pneumonia; decreases sedation requirements; and improves the ability to tolerate enteral feeds. The Cannulaide, as an adjunct to this therapy, can improve the quality of the CPAP seal and may help reduce irritation to your patients. Mini Whiskers®
Secure nasal cannulas and OG/NG tubes with our NEW "Mini Whiskers™" So Little...So Secure... The Mini Whiskers™ helps to keep the cannula in place directly under the infant's nose with soft, low-profile Velcro®. The Mini Whiskers™ gently attach to the skin with hydrocolloid adhesive and ensures easy changes to the placement of the cannula.
After cleaning the skin, apply the Mini Whiskers™ and then simply wrap the soft Velcro® loop strips around the cannula "like a candy cane". Then, place your cannula directly under the nose. With the Mini Whiskers™ there is no tension on the septum, ears, or taping the tubing to the face causing creases. The Mini Whiskers™ can also be used to secure OG/NG tubes. The soft Velcro® tabs can be secured to the OG tube in a "flag" configuration. When it’s time to change sides, the flag can be moved from one side to the other with good confidence of tube depth being consistent.  
Sticky Whiskers® Secure nasal cannulas gently with "Sticky Whiskers®" Securing tubes to infants has proven to be a challenge. In the past, cannulas have often been held in place with tapes that are too aggressive causing skin issues or requiring significant handling of the infant in order to relocate the device. However, if the adhesive is too light, the tubes become dislodged. Our Sticky Whiskers Velcro® interface allows a cannula to be secure yet still repositionable. After applying the Sticky Whiskers™ to the upper lip, simply wrap the soft Velcro® loop strips around the cannula "like a candy cane" and place your cannula in place directly under the nose.  Protecting the exposed trach from accidental external occlusion. The Tilson Trach Guard is a tracheostomy tube protector. It helps prevent blocking of the tube opening by chubby chins, bedding, gauze dressings, clothing, and so on. Unlike artificial noses, tee pieces, etc. the Tilson Trach Guard has a low profile and doesn't get clogged by even copious secretions or coughed-up mucous plugs. The Trach Guard is reported to be effective at stopping or deflecting these bits so they are not projected forward.
